Media & Entertainment Director
Chris Gorman grew up in North Platte—or what he calls the “west coast of Nebraska.” He studied Organizational Communication with an emphasis in Marketing at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, graduating in 2005.
Before joining Hurrdat, Chris was a Tour Manager for three bands on a nationwide tour and later worked for a student loan company. Federal regulations eventually led to his department with the student loan company being eliminated, so Chris took that as a sign that a career change was needed. He’d heard great things about Hurrdat, and a good friend introduced him to one of Hurrdat’s founders, Blake Lawrence.
Chris started with the Hurrdat team in 2015 as an Account Executive, where he pitched digital marketing services to clients and managed client relationships. In his current role as Media & Entertainment Director, Chris currently focuses on building out our podcasting network and services, sports properties like Hail Varsity, and entertainment projects like our Hurrdat Films documentaries.
While at Hurrdat, Chris has worked on several incredible projects and partnerships—including Maha Festival, PGA Korn Ferry Tour Pinnacle Bank Championship, Omaha Summer Arts Festival, and Omaha Storm Chasers—all of which he’s enjoyed for the unique opportunities they’ve provided.
“I get to do cool stuff with cool people every day,” Chris says. “Our connection with clients rarely feels like a client-vendor relationship. I truly feel like I’m part of whatever project we’re working on and want to deliver the best possible outcome.”
Chris has also been learning photography from the photographers who work on Hail Varsity’s print and web content, as well as video direction and editing from Hurrdat Films Director Dan Napoli.
